Cyanotypes

Working on my artist fellowship project. I’ve visited the local shoreline during the winter. It’s beautiful and quiet, especially when the fog rolls in. There’s a crispness to the air, the wind kicks up and you feel the sea air flow through you. On the north shore, a certain stillness occurs during the change of the daylight, or weather shifts. I think that’s what people mean when they speak about the calm before the storm.

This $5,000 grant is supported by Long Island Grants for the Arts through funds provided by the office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by The Huntington Arts Council. I’m focusing on a series of work portraying our Long Island North Shore through drawing, painting and printmaking. More to come as I work throughout the year.
